Interview with inspirational Photographer James Houston

Tell me where you are in your life right now, from your perspective?

My life is constantly evolving & I work hard to keep inspired and busy. I feel all the work that I have done has paid off & at this time Im really loving where Im at & enjoying the journey.
What fuels you to do everything that you do?

Ive always felt that I was here to do something amazing in my life. That burning ambition & desire to live a full life keeps me hungry & moving forward. The most important thing I have learnt over time is to really enjoy the journey which is as, if not more, important than the result.

If you could give any advice to your past self, what would it be?

Trust that everything will work out the way its meant to. Life is to be lived so go for it & dream big!
What are some words that you live by, and why?
TRUST- When you move forward in life trusting that the universe has a plan it takes the pressure off & you start to enjoy the process more. JUST DO IT- An intention or plan is one thing but action is the thing that makes shit happen. So stop talking & start walking.
COMMIT DONT ATTACH- When you commit to a result sometimes the journey doesn’t go the way you planned & thats ok. You need to let the journey take its course. When you attach there is too much ego & control & it becomes a struggle.

What motivates and inspires you?

Im motivated by other people I see achieving great results in their lives. Whether they are my friends or people I see in the media. Im also inspired by the visualization that I do.. I see the result I want in my head & connect with the feeling I would have if that was real now. That inspires & drives me.

What are you working on now?

Im working on a few exciting projects, one is a photographic project called Natural Beauty which involves shooting the worlds top models inspired by nature for a book, exhibition and webisode series which launches in January. The project raises awareness & funds for Global Green & my vision is to see youth have more interest in the cause.
I have also recently launched a blog www.thehoustoneffect.com where I share my insights & inspiration around mind lifestyle integration. Check it out 🙂
